Starting with a new dentist takes some trust, especially if past visits have made you nervous. We explain what we're doing before we do it, listen when something's bothering you, and take things at whatever pace you need. If you have specific fears or a rough experience in the past, let us know when you call or when you arrive.Your First Visit
Your first appointment starts with a full oral exam and a conversation about your dental and general health. We'll go over anything that needs attention and talk through your options together.The visit usually takes about an hour to an hour and a half. Depending on time, we may also clean your teeth that day, or schedule the cleaning as a short follow-up.
What to Bring
- Recent X-rays (full-mouth or panoramic, taken within the last 5 years). If you don't have them, we can take digital X-rays here.
- A summary of your medical and dental history, including any medications or supplements you take.
- Your dental insurance card, if you have one.
- A parent, if you're under 18.
- Our forms, if you'd like to fill them out ahead of time. You can download them to the left.
